If you live within a zip code served by any CSL office and meet federal poverty guidelines, we can help. If we can’t, we do our best to find places that can.

Housing Counseling

We believe it’s a lot easier to prevent than cure homelessness. CSL helps people who are marginally housed, staying with friends or relatives, facing eviction, foreclosure or becoming homeless find decent, affordable and permanent housing. CSL housing counseling programs serve clients throughout Eastern Jackson County. CSL is a HUD-certified Housing Counseling Agency providing:

• Shelters and Temporary Housing Counseling

• Subsidized Housing Referrals

• Responsible Tenant Counseling

• Foreclosure/Delinquent Mortgage Counseling

Work Express

When someone comes to CSL for help, one of the first questions we ask is, “Are you looking for work?” If the answer is yes, we refer them to Work Express. CSL case managers work with clients to facilitate the transition from under-employment and joblessness to stable and satisfying work. Our employment development services address the continuum of needs to obtain and retain employment.
